The song, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year” indeed is true this December. There is something magical about family and friends coming together to celebrate the holiday season, and I personally cannot wait to see my family in Ontario. Last year, the Social Media Breakfast Red Deer committee put together a phenomenal event in December with fancy decor, pretty name tags, good food, and gave away many door prizes. I was pleased to donate a door prize last year and have donated a prize again this year. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the SMBRD event on Thursday, December 21, so I thought I would explain my door prize for anyone interested in what I’m calling a “sorta hippy gift bag.” This gift bag includes a few of my favourite things that are somewhat “hippy” in nature.
Barnana, the Original Banana Snack
No, that’s not a typo. It really is Barnana. This company is so cool! They are on “a mission to end food waste on organic banana farms by upcycling the bananas that used to go to waste. When ‘imperfect’ bananas have scuffs, are a little too ripe, or aren’t the perfect size – they are typically rejected for export. We take these delicious bananas and turn them into snacks.” And they’re yummy! These retail usually around $5.99.
I am in love with the Freshii “fast food” chain. It has become the place I look for when I’m busy and can’t make a meal. They have a variety of fresh, healthy food to choose from and some meals support “We Feed” through Free the Children which is super duper cool. I included a $10 gift card.
Norwex Window Cloth
This product will clean your windows with only water! This product retails for $20.99.
Mari’s Gold Aromatherapy
I am in love with diffusing scents and knowing the owner of this company personally, I can attest to the quality and love put into her products. I have included three oil concentrates. I use them in my diffuser and change up the scent depending on my mood. Each diffuser is different, but 10 drops should do the trick! These products are all made in small batches and are completely natural. I have included the following blends: vitality, tomb raiders, and love. They retail for $15 a bottle.
In an effort to reduce unnecessary plastic waste at the grocery store, I have been using a variety of reusable produce bags and have included two types in this gift bag:
- 4R Planet – Four thin mesh bags with a drawstring to close. I love these and use them for all types of fresh produce. They have an incredible deal on right now. Four reusable bags for $3.00 CAD.
- Norwex – Three thick bags with a drawstring. I tend to use these for heavier items, such as potatoes, onions, and celery. These retail for $14.99/set of three.
This prize pack retails at $89.99 in eco-friendly prizes.
I cannot wait to see who wins this prize. I hope whoever wins it digs these products, and if not, perhaps they have an eco-minded friend who would love to share. Merry Christmas!
